Some feedback from various online workshops

In answer to “What did you particularly enjoy or was a highlight of the workshop for you?”

I don’t think one thing stood out for me.  I enjoyed all the writing exercises. (Terri)

After the reading of the poem, the  personal writing from a short phrase taken from the poem (Monica Lee).

I have participated in three workshops on the topics of growth, roles, and self-love.  I have enjoyed and benefited from them all.  I appreciate the consistency of the format month to month.  It allows me to settle into the process of writing and sharing with some familiarity and comfort to balance the unexpected and vulnerability of the process.  Each session there are also differences – in the dynamics of the group, in the poems that are shared, and in the ideas that we are encouraged to reflect on and explore.  Each time I have learned something about myself, been inspired by someone else, and felt richer for the experience.  I plan to continue attending and writing in this way.  I appreciate the immediacy the time limits place, and the guidance with sentence stems to prompt reflection.  (Lisa - yoga teacher and yoga therapist)

Working with imagery; working with the writing prompt; movement. (Amanda, psychotherapist)

I enjoy reading the poems, pulling out words and sentences to write something else from it from my point of view. (Loretta)

I think you put the group at ease and was clear about what the morning session was about.   Sharing in the small group was a lovely experience because it was a warm and gentle environment.  I particularly enjoyed the gibberish exercise… it really broke the ice I think and fit in so well with the theme.   (Clare Padovani – educator and Gestalt psychotherapist).

I enjoyed the gibberish, sharing our writing with each other and thinking about language in new ways. I liked the breathing exercise as well and found this very soothing. (Katrina)

I really enjoyed working around a set theme and exploring the many different ways we associate with it; particularly the list of words and thinking about the potential possibilities for further writing using each word as a starting point.  I loved the poem as well and enjoyed reading it aloud together as a group.   I can’t actually think of anything that needed improvement.  I thought it was a well-organised workshop.  I thought it was a great group dynamic and we worked well together.

(Laura Merritt)

This is the first writing workshop I've done for some years that had a wellbeing theme rather than a critical approach.  I really appreciated the accepting, non-judgmental space around the writing we shared.  Also having short timed periods to write during the workshop.  It felt carefully structured too.

(Liz)

Having an opportunity to explore values in a safe reflective environment.  Connecting with myself again. (Margaret)

Any other comments:

I liked your thoughtful and inclusive facilitation.  Thank you. (Terri)

I thought the session was brilliantly planned and carried out with sensitivity and depth. Reading the poem twice aloud and changing the reader gave another insight into interpretation. Everyone felt very included in this strange zoom world.   (Monica Lee)

Thanks so much for this opportunity to be guided and write with you and the group. I’m really enjoying it. (Lisa, yoga teacher and yoga therapist)

You created a very gentle and supportive space and encouraged open and deep expression - thank you. (Amanda, psychotherapist)

I love these workshops, they encourage me to open up in my writing and within the group. (Loretta)

All in all, a lovely time, enjoyable and feel good that words came out, and was listened to in the company of like-minded ladies.  Look forward to another session with a well-thought theme like today’s. Thank you. (Clare Padovani – educator and Gestalt psychotherapist)

I really enjoyed this workshop and felt safe to share my writing in this small group. Narayani has a fun and calm way of engaging and including participants in her interesting and enjoyable word games and exercises. There was a real sense of sharing. I would love to come together at another workshop sometime soon. (Katrina)

Thank you, Narayani, for a wonderful session.  Your insights and encouragement have helped me reconnect with some deep part of myself that I had temporarily mislaid. (Margaret)
